    Introduction to grep

    I dig around in the man pages of commands a lot. I suppose that’s what every diligent Linux user should do that interfaces with the CLI. Today I’m going to take about an extremely useful command that advanced users should know backwards and forwards and give an example or three to prove its usefulness. If you’re a DOS user who has made the recent switch to Linux, you might find that the man pages are a bit on the heavy side compared to the DOS /? help menu. Hopefully, my command tutorials will bridge that gap for you.

    Building a Computer - Part 6 Graphics/Loose Ends

    The final major component that you need is a way to SEE what your new computer is actually doing. There are only a couple of approaches on how to get a video signal our of your computer. The best of course is an add-on video card, but on-board video (integrated into the motherboard) is also a very popular option if you are on a budget.     Power Management in Windows XP

    Well, here we were, happily trudging along writing our tutorials, and much like the federal Democratic Party in this country has drifted further and further to the left lately, we have been writing more and more difficult tutorials. It was brought to my attention that it’s time to get back to our root audience, so I have come to the conclusion (with the great editor’s permission) that it’s time for a Basics article.
