    Simple Permissions with Windows XP

    It’s Advanced time again, and, as promised, this week I’m going to go over permissions in XP. Permissions are applicable to individual users or groups. In fact, you can apply them to other entities created as well, such as system accounts, systems themselves, etc. Permissions are the very core of networking security, because even one file overlooked could spell disaster, and remember, it’s not “if,” but “when.”

    Introduction to C++ classes: Part 2/2

    Last week, we delved right into the Coding section with a quick peek at classes in C++. I went over the purpose of a class, the structure of a class, and a quick peek into the design of a class. This week, I’ll pick up right where I left off with referencing all the variables inside of a class, as well as putting everything together, header files and all, to be compiled.

    Ahead Nero Burning ROM 6 Ultra Edition

    One of my favorite things about being a geek is that I always seem to be �ahead� of the game as far as having the latest and greatest software. Today is no different. Last Friday marked the official release date for Nero Burning ROM 6 Ultra Edition. By late Friday afternoon, I already had my trial copy downloaded and waiting to be tested. Nero has been known for several years now as the premier CD authoring software for power users and geeks alike, but more recently has been gaining a larger share of the retail market. After completing my initial exploration of Nero 6, I wasn�t flooded with joy, as there didn�t seem to be very many differences aside from the new, prettier, XP style buttons used throughout the interface. However, upon further exploring, I found the version to be much improved in terms of usability.
