Yesterday we bowed for kings and bent our necks before emperors. But today, we kneel only to truth -- Khalil Gibran

    New Photos Added

    Posted: Tue Jul 17 2007 19:11

One of the problems with switching from a 512 MB memory card to a 2 GB memory card is that one is not given the same timeframe required to upload new pictures. This is my current situation, as I have not added any new pictures to this site since 2006. The direct link to the new photos is here, or you can navigate to the Photography section by clicking the “Photos” button on the left.

This album contains images from the first half of 2007. It includes Ethan’s first haircut, Easter, a trip to the beach, Meagan’s family’s visit, and Father’s day, among other random pictures.

    Why Fanboys Irritate Me

    Posted: Mon Jul 16 2007 8:11

Here is a prime example of why fanboys (of anything) irritate me. Someone is accusing Microsoft of “ripping off” the Apple Universal logo; although, I could swear that I’ve seen that symbol somewhere before. For bonus examples, be sure to read the first few comments.

Here’s a link breaking down the “fine print” accompanying the iPhone. Enjoy.

What’s This? Some Sort of Phone?

    Posted: Wed Jul 4 2007 8:43

If anyone knows of a place where I can get some information on something called the “Apple eye-phone” please let me know. I know this is a rather obscure request, and I’m sure that most people don’t have a clue what I’m talking about. However, if anyone knows anything about this elusive device, please let me know because I would like to hear something about it. I feel like I’m missing out on something important, and I also feel that the media is dropping the ball by giving this important device NO coverage.

    Descending Into Absurdity

Human greed takes lion’s share of solar energy — Sydney Morning Herald

Now, humanity is being accused of using too much sun.

HUMANS are just one of the millions of species on Earth, but we use up almost a quarter of the sun’s energy captured by plants - the most of any species.

The human dominance of this natural resource is affecting other species, reducing the amount of energy available to them by almost 10 per cent, scientists report.

Researchers said the findings showed humans were using “a remarkable share” of the earth’s plant productivity “to meet the needs and wants of one species”.

Wow… just wow. The assault on scientific reasoning knows no limit.

“Here we are, just one species on the earth, and we’re grabbing a quarter of the renewable resources … we’re probably being a bit greedy.”

If algae, et al., has a problem with us using too much of our “share,” then algae can invent, e.g., solar panels to better use what is available.
